As a Portfolio Manager for the National Renewable Energy Lab's Solar Prize Round 6 and 7 Competitions, I coach startups in project planning, prototyping, customer discovery, business development strategies, pitch strategies, and help them build effective networks.

I provided workshop development, training, and coaching to support the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and its Office of Innovation in launching an internal innovation incubator for FAO staff.

The Dam Sector Risk Resilience Program (DSR3P) was a pilot program to improve community resilience along the Savannah River watershed in South Carolina. I provided project management support, quality assurance support and oversight, and performed a case study to determine unique enabling or inhibiting characteristics of 3 US-based communities towards their evolution in flood-based resilience, based upon FEMA's Community Rating System (CRS) Program.

I hosted a live community of practice where we discuss PM leadership and tactics as a peer group, as well as a podcast where I got to chat with some of the best and brightest in project management. As the Senior Program Manager at Moovila, I provided advice on product application. Moovila is the autonomous PPM/PMO platform that runs on a discreet math engine, automating the calculations behind project management.

I helped academic faculty and administrators create and grow courses and programs in sustainability-focused science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship. My team awarded faculty grants to give projects momentum, hosted workshops and communities of practice on sustainability and entrepreneurship topics, and created new knowledge in our field.

I served in the Department of Engineering Leadership and Program Management (ELPM) in the School of Engineering (SOE) at The Citadel. I taught courses in a variety of areas within project management, including planning and scheduling, career skills, quality, risk, and project support and operations. I also occasionally taught in other engineering departments, such as construction, civil, and mechanical engineering.My research interests focused on building a more resilient and sustainable society, as well as innovation in resource constrained settings (primarily humanitarian technology and delivery). I also worked to develop innovative ways of providing students with experiential learning opportunities.

I served jointly with the Engineering and Science Education Department and the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering. My primary research focused around creating, growing and assessing active-learning programs and opportunities, particularly in service-learning and humanitarian engineering. I was the Founding Director of Clemson Engineers for Developing Countries, a service-learning program that provides sustainable solutions to improve the quality of life of those in developing countries. I was also the founding advisor for Tigers for Multigenerational Technology Implementation, a student-centric program working to solve technology and mobility related issues faced by elderly populations in Upstate SC (initial partnership with Clemson Downs). Additionally, I served as the faculty advisor for the Clemson Grand Challenge Scholars Program.

Doctoral Dissertation: "Incorporating Hazard Resistance into the Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) Framework"

Served as primary instructor to 78 students and oversaw a graduate teaching assistant who aided with grading. Developed curriculum, including all assignments, projects, daily lectures, and other course material. Scheduled relevant guest speakers and activities.

Assessed a set of disaster resistant technologies for integration into a resilience rating system.Developed an application for handheld devices to help emergency managers and first responders to objectively determine levels of repairability, habitability, and an order of magnitude repair estimate for a home following a disaster.Reviewed existing building codes, emergency management materials, and other government documents issued throughout the United States in order to determine baseline levels of habitability required prior to citizens returning home following a natural disaster.
