Planning, assigning, and reviewing work for all maintenance staff to ensure conformance with established methods, policies, and procedures. Maintaining continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating plans, actions, irregularities, and open items. Train staff and create written maintenance procedures to ensure work is done properly. Troubleshooting equipment by using experience, manuals, drawings, schematics, operating procedures, and common sense. This internship was carried out during the final year of my diploma, the aim was to evaluate bolted connections on a charcoal conveyor. This conveyor was previously designed with welded joints all along and because of bad corrosion treatment was quickly damaged. So the objective was to make it into different modules that could fit into a hot galvanization facility. I was also doing truss structure calculations, Bolting connection selection and validation, along with the manufacturing drawings for the conveyor on the AutoCAD software package.

I was responsible for carrying out major and minor maintenance on shipping vessels, including replacing damaged mechanical and electrical components. Working for Pelagic, I learned about the importance of maintenance in order to achieve the desired output from the machines such as boats, the importance of following safety sequences when working in the marine industry. I was also introduced to the concept of timeframes and deadlines and hence was able to learn to work and keep calm in high-pressure scenarios.
