Jeff joined the Palleon team in December 2017 as VP of Translational Research, with 20 years industry experience in antibody and small molecule drug discovery and development. Jeff has broad experience in translational science, and successfully supported multiple projects from basic research into proof of concept testing in clinical trials. Jeff brings a fresh perspective to the I/O field and glyco-immune checkpoint biology and a depth of knowledge focused on aligning preclinical data with biomarkers and patient selection strategies to enable early clinical decision making.

Jeff was VP of Translational Science at Radius Health, where he built a translational research capability to support both breast cancer and osteoporosis disease areas. Jeff's role included both preclinical project support and clinical biomarker delivery, as well as establishing bioinformatics, DMPK, and safety pharmacology platforms. While at Radius, Jeff was a key member of the oncology teams for RAD1901 and RAD140 targeting HR positive breast cancer, and the osteoporosis development team that successfully delivered the NDA and FDA approval of Tymlos (abaloparatide) for high-risk patients with osteoporosis.

Jeff brings 20 years of industry experience and deep knowledge of Translational science and early Clinical development to the Pharmagellan team. Jeff is motivated by helping patients has delivered biomarker and patient selection strategies for a portfolio of more than 12 clinical programs. Jeff has broad experience in both small molecule and monoclonal antibody development ranging from enabling preclinical work, through Phase I/II proof of concept testing, and into pivotal Phase III trials. Recently, Jeff has been working on clinical deployment of NGS strategies for both prospective and retrospective analysis of clinical samples, as well as understanding the complex biology associated predicting response to Immune checkpoint inhibitors in both hematological and solid tumor combination trials.

• Establish and lead a team of translational scientists to deliver PD biomarker assays and exploratory patient selection strategies for oncology portfolio• Define biomarker assays and clinical Go/NoGo criteria for “proof of mechanism” in Phase I trials• Retrospective analyses of Phase I/II clinical outcome data to further define patient response biomarkers, and prospective selection approach for clinical trials• Support NextGen sequencing efforts, outsourcing, and collaborations for mechanism of action studies and clinical mechanisms of resistance• Support in-licensing BD due diligence activities, external collaborations

• Responsible for delivering biomarker strategy and data for monoclonal antibody and small molecule oncology projects• Drive preclinical combinations plans, PK-PD-efficacy data, clinical biomarker assays, and patient selection strategy to support early clinical decision making• Provide data-driven evidence for target linkage for Phase I trials, support non-clinical pharmacology sections of IND, IMPD, CRF, Lab Manuals, IB, Investigator Meetings and clinical site visits

• Responsible for team leading VELCADE cell biology and mechanism of action studies for Ub-proteasome inhibitors• Project lead and clinical development representative for MLN944 biology and non-clinical pharmacology section of IND • Responsible for establishing VELCADE PGx strategy for Phase II trials in multiple myeloma• Management of PhD scientists and cell biology staff for 2nd generation Ub-proteasome projects

• Technology development for genomic transcription profiling technologies for clinical samples• Assembled large-format nylon human UniGene cDNA arrays, custom arrays, RNA labeling methods • Developed high-throughput robotic applications including 96-well RNA purification, probe-labeling, nylon-based 96-well array printing and hybridization trials for high-density glass microarrays• Established a pharmacogenomics biomarker discovery team for screening and staging assays
