Molecular Applications Specialist for HologicCustomer Support:  Site Assessments: Performed customer site assessments prior to customer training and implementation of new molecular assays. Reviewed workspace requirements, equipment setup, and environmental workspace requirements. Customer Training: Primary training for customers utilizing the molecular assays from Hologic. Additionally, onsite training included setup of assay equipment and training on routine maintenance of equipment. Technical Support / Troubleshooting: Primary technical support contact person within my designated territory. Technical support and troubleshooting focused on the following molecular assays: HPV, Cystic Fibrosis, UGT, COAG, CT/NG, & Trichomonas vaginalis. Customer Maintenance: Performed quarterly customer visits to assess molecular assay utilization, technical issues, and customer expertise with assays.

Employee Management:  Job Descriptions: Developed and updated job descriptions on a yearly basis for employees supervised. Employee Performance: Performed yearly evaluations, annual assessments, documented disciplinary action. Employee Training: Primary trainer for new hires within departments supervised; including cytotechnologists, Lab Prep staff, Molecular technicians, and Andrology technicians. Safety Meetings: Designed and performed monthly safety meetings for department staff.  Monthly Staff Meetings: Monthly staff focused on current issues with in the laboratory. Additionally, meetings were used to help foster communication among employees and continually focused on team building skills within the department, in order to achieve a higher level of efficiency / proficiency.Administrative Duties: Procedure Manuals: Developed procedure manuals for departments supervised. Created and standardized format used by company for SOPs. Maintained master SOPs for all departments within the company.  Quality Management: Developed QM programs for departments supervised; generated monthly & yearly departmental statistics; designed laboratory documents (logs for equipment maintenance, QA logs, specimen requisitions, etc); ensured departments remained in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and OSHA guidelines. New Technology: Assessed potential new technologies for use in the laboratory; reviewing feasibility, potential productivity and efficiency gains, and specificity / sensitivity data. Proficiency Testing: Ordered, distributed, and resulted PT for departments supervised.
