I went from baking cookies at the mall to spending 30+ years in the Insurance Industry. From Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin to Health, Life, Disability, Property & Casualty and Compliance, Audit, Finance, Operations, Underwriting and Claims. It has been a great career so far, and I still like to bake cookies for meetings and training classes.Whether it is my career, or coaching or playing sports, or being with friends and family, I believe these are the greatest qualities I bring to the table - Being passionate, displaying integrity, and showing respect and loyalty to others.I bring passion to every aspect of my life. 30+ years in the Insurance Industry ,15 years of coaching youth hockey, 30+ years of playing hockey, or cheering on my favorite sports teams (Go Pack Go!); I cannot hide my passion for life. I especially love to train and mentor new associates. I really like becoming their go-to person for information and guidance. I spent 4 years working with Graduate and Intern Programs, and watching those associates grow and become successful has been so rewarding.Integrity is something I pride myself in. Doing the right thing when nobody else is looking – my parents instilled that into me at an early age. It is why I gravitated and thoroughly enjoyed working in the Compliance part of Insurance. I am not a “gotcha” type Compliance Officer. I believe in working with everyone to make sure they understand the “why” and the “how”.I spent 15 years with one organization – Assurant and 13 years with Willis Towers Watson. I believe in showing loyalty to your employers, your employees, and especially your friends and family. In my career I have showed respect to everyone with whom I worked. Getting to know them on a personal level, opening up to them as well. The “catch more flies with honey” adage has done me well in my career. Treat people with respect, be kind to them, be loyal to them, and you will get more production and happier employees.
