I've worked in a variety of roles in the Creative environment, including IT and Digital Asset Management, for over 25 years and have gained a wealth of invaluable experience and knowledge. Having worked on both sides of the fence with Creative and IT, I have the insight and know how to work between IT and Creative very effectively.Having hands on experience in areas such as graphic design, pre-media, photography, network administrator and digital asset management I've made major contributions with every company I've had the opportunity to work with. At my current and last job I took non functional digital asset management systems and got them up and running and fully functional in fairly short periods of time. In addition to getting the DAM systems up and running I was also able to work with the IT department to get a much needed storage space for backups. I have worked with collaborators and stake holders to build digital asset management systems from the ground up including all aspects of metadata, taxonomy and schemas.I've also managed the transfer of digital assets and metadata between two very dissimilar digital asset management systems.My experience working as a graphic designer, pre-media specialist, photographer and IT professional has provided me with a complete understanding of the full life cycle of digital assets from the point of creation through the entire process to storing in a DAM system and finally archiving. This also incudes working with and building relationships with all involved stake holders. This working knowledge makes me a valuable asset to many companies who's livelihood depends on the Creative process.
