Designed and implemented a new extraction pipeline architecture for our main data pipelines, supporting low latency extraction of data from a newly adopted HRMS vendor’s APIs. Improving upon previously once a day direct database full extractions from our previous HRMS system. Led a small team of engineers in an effort to enhance our capabilities to deliver HR Data to developers in a new, efficient, performant, and easy to digest manner. This effort resulted in a GraphQL API that’s leveraged by developers throughout the company as the official source for HR Data. Architected and developed a scalable serverless system to ingest up to 30k employee vaccination information and documentation records per minute for verification and reporting in collaboration with a wide variety of functions within the company in order to comply with Executive Order 14042. Enhanced our Airflow job scheduling engine to leverage Kubernetes for high availability, scalability, and reliability.

Moved internally to support the newly formed HR Data Services team on a new project to build the HR Data Lake, enabling analytical and system queries into 100~ years of HR data. Developed reusable services, design patterns, templates, and tools to allow other developers to easily develop, deploy, and monitor new data pipelines leveraging the EMR (Hadoop) ecosystem on AWS. Investigated and incorporated other data pipeline technologies, such as AWS Glue and Lambda for shorter, smaller, more frequently run pipelines. Additionally started mentoring interns on a variety of related projects from full stack web applications to data engineering.

Enhanced and maintained a portfolio of enterprise applications, ranging from an internal conference scheduling tool leveraging Sharepoint as a backend, and an iOS app as a user frontend. Security access forms with an AngularJS frontend and a Sharepoint backend. A homegrown change management tool heavily leveraging Sharepoint. As well as the Executive Action System, an ASP.NET web app hosted on EC2 using an RDS MSSQL Server as a database.

Built the front end mobile app portion of LMEngage, a publicly facing Android and iOS app leveraging the Ionic Framework and Apache Cordova to code once, deploy “everywhere”. The goal was to keep CodeQuest and Job Fair participants “Engaged” with Lockheed Martin by having interesting and relevant daily content available to the user, such as news, trivia quizzes with leaderboards and seasonal prize distributions, as well as job postings.
