I am responsible for planning and engineering machine controls upgrades, retrofits and repairs for various types of automated machinery in a tier-one automotive parts manufacturing facility. This machinery includes metal stamping presses and associated automation, automated weld assembly cells, and various types of industrial robots. The engineering aspect of this work typically includes: Specifying a bill of materials, the procurement of parts, the assembly and wiring of electrical components, the writing of PLC and HMI code and the programming of Robotics.
