JumpStart Triage3D Artist/DesignerWorking on MassDiGI’s JumpStart Triage during my last semester of Becker College gave me a rounded knowledge of the different facets of an art pipeline in the Games Industry. As I previously was accustomed to only providing art assets to art leads or designers, to then being an acting art lead thinking about an art style or tasks, to when I eventually worked on Triage for asset implementation and designing. Having to deal with problems for each of these positions throughout my college career helped round out my experience. As problems came up in the development process of too many assets being on standby for someone to implement, and then too many people working in the same scene that eventually led to wiping out some of my progress on our third map. These problems resulted in volunteering myself as the designated person to implement assets from my art team, thus improving our art pipeline and preventing future problems. Some road bumps did occur as I haven’t had much experience in my new role, but with help from my art lead, I had improved my communication in the form of updates or assigning tasks based on what our map needed. While on the side I continued to model assets and be apart of the beginning and end of the art pipeline.
