My forty-year-plus career( yeah I know it's a long time--) has had me extensively involved in advanced communications networks and technologies around the world for large Enterprise firms, Internet Service Providers, Competitive LEC's and Tier one and two Telecom Carriers. My post- Bell System employment allowed me to leverage my acquired knowledge and experience with service providers around the world....Thank you Ascend Communications!! I have actively pursued higher learning and self development opportunities by attending night school at George Washington University (MS-Telecom) and the University of Maryland-College Park (MPA). My academic endeavors also included participation in the creation of a Masters of Science program in Telecommunications within the Electrical Engineering department at the University of Maryland College Park. As a Senior Systems Engineer and later Director of Business Development for Ascend Communications (acquired by Lucent) I had the responsibility and opportunity to work with and assist in the development and growth nationwide of the ISP and CLEC markets and helped generate over $500 million in revenues throughout North America. Additional responsibilities included corporate speaker for industry trade events and 40+ targeted technology/regulatory seminars across North and South America.I also have had experience with early start-up ventures in the wire line and wireless markets.. some successful and some not.I am by formal training a systems engineer, technologist and sales professional. The Bell system spent in excess of $400k on training and personal development programs. I have held executive sales and market management positions and also possess an extensive legal, regulatory and business development background in the telecommunications sector. My goal has been to accomplish the big and the small, to help create value in the endeavors I pursue, to provide for my family, and to learn something new everyday.Specialties: SME in telco billing and arbitrage, Carrier network services and NextGen voice/data, technologies.
