* RESPONSIBILIES INCLUDE: -- Primarily Consultant Pharmacist working daily to improve patient care by meeting with physician and nurses daily and answering any drug related questions they may have.-- Receive new prescriptions daily and check for possible problems or interactions.-- Personal supervision of drug distribution to ambulatory patients giving them personal attention.-- Prescription verification.-- Supervision of pharmacy technicians.

* INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:-- Quality Control (QC) in verifying the actual physical prescription for accuracy and content per State Board protocol.-- Prescription Verification (PV) (a) to ensure annotations were entered properly by Rx entry tech and the Rx entry Pharmacist. (b) Verify quality control information of the actual Prescription.-- MD phone calls. Receive new oral prescriptions via telephone and call MD's office to update Rx for refills, prescription clarification: patient's relation to plan's member, patient's D.O.B, address, phone number, allergies, etc. and a working knowledge of each State Board's Law.

Staff Pharmacist

Primary responsibility is that of prescription verification: checking and verifying either the hard copy or prescription taken via the phone. -- Aided and assisted customers/patients with their various needs and concerns either while they visited in-store or by phone. Filling prescriptions while simultaneously checking their profile for any drug interactions and allergies that may have had in the past or could possibly be subjected to in the future.-- Forming long term personal relationships with customers.

DUTIES / ACHIEVEMENTS:-- Prescription Verification: checking and verifying either the hard copy or the Rx taken via the phone.-- Prescription Fulfillment & Consulting: Filling patient prescriptions - simultaneously researching allergy and drug interactions history (telephone or in-store queries). -- Pharmacy Preceptor: Samford & Auburn Universities - oversaw internship training at store for students enrolled in either pharmaceutical study curriculum.

DUTIES/ACHIEVEMENTS: -- Prescription Fulfillment & Consulting: Provide prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care.-- Quality Control: Supervise the fulfillment of prescriptions by pharmacy technicians.-- Records Administration/Auditing: Ensure adequate control and documentation of all controlled substance records and monitor patient medication profiles.-- Inventory Control: administer Rx and OTC inventory controls (includes ordering and removal of out-of-date products).-- Personnel Management: hiring/firing, scheduling, training of department personnel.-- School Preceptor: Internship Training for pharmaceutical students enrolled at Samford University.
