As the Deputy Director & Controller, I am leading the great teams in Accounting, FP&A and Internal Control. As a strategic thinker and leader with 25 years of experience, I have applied strategic insight and tactical direction in the areas of: accounting and finance; financial planning; SEDAR filings; SEC filings; corporate treasury and cash management; Human Resources; medical insurance and benefits; property and casualty insurance; information technology; facilities management; raising money in the public markets and investor relations for LexaGene.At LexaGene, I have assisted the CEO in raising over $35M, launched a first of its kind sample to answer diagnostic device used in the bio burden testing for biopharma companies and the first of its kind sample to answer, point of care diagnostic device used in the detection of harmful pathogens in veterinary diagnostics. In addition, I have transitioned LexaGene from a TSX.V company to a fully compliant SEC regulated company.

I have been an independent financial consultant working with start-up and early stage companies where I have applied my strategic planning and leadership capabilities to identify, implement and improve business systems and support growth. I have specialized in areas of M&A, financial statement preparation, MRP and ERP system implementations and integrations, product development, public reporting, SOX compliance, GL and data integrity services. I have provided financial and strategic advisory to companies such as Caliber Imaging and Diagnostics, SolGen Energy, Pondview Investments, AGE Leasing, T2 Biosystems (NASDAQ: TTOO) and Advanced Light Sciences (both medical device companies) . Additionally, I have worked with the Winchester Community Music School, a nonprofit, advising the Board of Directors and the Executive Director on numerous business efficiencies, financial planning and various analysis.

We sold Palomar in June of 2013 for just under $300M. Joined start-up operation for the technology leader and pioneer in the science of highly advanced cosmetic lasers and intense pulsed light systems. I was a pivotal leader in growing the company into a major player within the aesthetic device market for publicly traded companies on NASDAQ (symbol: PMTI). I worked closely with the CEO and CFO in growing revenues for the core aesthetic laser business from zero base to $150 million over a 16 yr period.During my time at Palomar, I directed functions for accounting, budgeting, financial planning and reporting including multiple subsidiary consolidations, prepared and reviewed all 10K and 10Q SEC filings, performed extensive corporate treasury functions in US dollars and multiple foreign currencies and created and maintained numerous types of global business intelligence and reporting efficiency programs. Additionally, I was responsible for all internal and external financial audits and reviews, sales and use tax audits, global physical inventories, global payrolls and managed an accounting staff of ten.I worked closely with the full BOD, Audit Committees and Compensation Committees on a quarterly basis. My responsibilities included quarterly financial overviews to the BOD, highlighting key performance indicators, current operational events, financial results, departmental evaluations, measured departmental expenses to operational and forecasted plans, product reliability matrixes and provided selected employee data. I organized and managed the pre-audit and audit committee meetings.Operationally, I implemented a global credit card platform, helped integrate shipping modules into the ERP system, implemented and maintained SOX compliance, established international banking and maintained global commission programs for approximately 80 domestic and 30 international reps (includes commissions statements, processing, reconciliations and payments through payroll).

Prior to being acquired by DHL, ASG USA was the largest international freight forwarding subsidiary of ASG International in Sweden with more than $200M in annual revenues. Developed and implemented financial, accounting, and operational controls systems for the international freight forwarding US subsidiary.. Served in a capacity of maintaining inventory and inventory control for fifteen offices across the United States. Reconciled all US prepaid asset accounts, all capitalized asset accounts and was responsible for all month end closes. Promotion through a series of increasingly accountable positions during career with the company as follows: General Ledger Analyst (1996 – 1997) Accounts Payable Supervisor (1995 – 1996) Corporate Accountant (1993– 1995)Selected Achievements:*Reduced outstanding receivables by 40 days through efforts in designing and orchestrating cash flow management systems.*Responsible for the collection of payments from customers totaling over $500K per month. *In charge of maintaining a constant payment schedule with all airlines (80 Cargo Airline Reports), ocean freight forwarders and ground transportation totaling over $2.0M per month.*Key member of the internal audit team tasked with auditing all fifteen offices enforcing quality control and efficiencies. *Assisted the IT department on any day to day issues or problems regarding the GL system while addressing all accounting related matters or questions.*Helped write various programs integrating all major airlines and ocean freight data into the GL, including payment history, on time tracking and lost cargo.
