DARPA TERN Program:• Concept design, analysis and simulation of a runway independent aircraft recovery system.• Development of sub scale test lab, and successful verification of simulated response and loads through test.• Successful program led to continued funding.Orion Unmanned Aircraft System:• Responsible for characterization and verification of dynamic behavior, performance, and stability of aircraft during take-off, landing, and ground maneuvers.• Planned and led vehicle ground testing. Supported flight-worthiness, post-flight, and technical review process.• Developed numerous models and tools to assess vehicle dynamics. Correlated the modeling results using flight test data.

Orion Unmanned Aircraft System:• Led the development, and subsystem integration and test of the nose gear steering system, brake system, and flight control mechanical system.• Supported final system integration and test efforts, flight-worthiness review, and flight test and post flight data analysis and review processes.• Successful preparation of vehicle for initial flight test and support of efforts for follow-on flight test programs.

• Overall responsibility for the design and analysis of aircraft mechanical systems and primary airframe structures.• Operated as a turn-key system development engineer, with roles including detail design, system and strength analysis, loads and aircraft configuration development and management, analysis tool and model development and management, and test development and execution.• Led the Orion UAS fuselage structural analysis team and developed and owned the loads database.• Designed the Orion UAS landing gear.• Orion UAS and the Boeing Phantom Eye airframe and mechanical system design and analysis.• Led the destructive testing of primary airframe components.• Raytheon Killer Bee and Orion UAS structural dynamic and flutter analyses• Structural analysis of Sikorsky CH53K main rotor pylon.• Design of propulsion drive train components and assemblies for the GE50 and GE80 ducted fans.
