Currently I work as an Associate Professor of Finance where I focus on quantitative academic research that at the intersection of data science and financial theory. My primary interests lie in better understanding how information is shared and decisions are made within financial markets. In addition to research, I teach students in the finance and data science programs how to work with, understand, and model data.I have created numerous data science courses within finance and data science at both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. I am an affiliated faculty member with the data science degree program, and I am a faculty fellow within the MTSU Data Science Institute where I work on a small team of 3 to provide data solutions to non-profits, small businesses, and government entities. My data science interests primarily focus on how to extract useful insights from textual data.I have published articles in top Finance journals as well as numerous completed working papers. Over the past years I have presented my research has been presented at over 15 internationally recognized conferences and at nearly 20 different Universities.
