Qylur is a technology company pioneering social networks of intelligent machines that evolve on a massive scale through the blended use of Artificial Intelligence and the Industrial Internet-of-Things. Qylur's Qylatron Entry Experience solution is transforming the first customer touchpoint at public venues by resolving the pain of providing both high security and a great guest experience. These public venues include amusement parks and attractions, national monuments, stadiums and arenas, mega-events, as well as transportation terminals.My portfolio includes Engineering, Supply Chain Ops, Field Support, Customer Success, EHS, Quality & Reliability, Corporate Operations, Program Management, and IT. I lead the annual strategic planning process. I have completed plans for dramatically scaling the Qylur business (10x - 20x the employees) by either creating or evolving the processes, procedures, systems, and organization to meet our growing business needs.

Supervising a team of industrial researchers, transformed the lab around strategic, core research focus areas of electric field control and rigorous reliability growth while abandoning non-core areas. The focus led to several new multi-year, multi-million dollar, technology-development projects, e.g. advanced motor insulation impacting 70% of product line and growing margin 10%, novel concepts that enable high reliability and hybrid-electric aviation applications, and a Department of Energy funded effort. The team aimed to revolutionize the next generation of electrical insulation for GE’s industrial products, including motors, generators, and grid equipment. Specific challenges include high voltage, high-frequency, SiC switching, high altitude, high temperature, and challenging chemical environments.

Was a member of the GE operations team integrating PrimeStar Solar in to GE Renewables. PrimeStar was a CdTe photovoltaic technology and manufacturing startup that was acquired by GE. Led a cross-functional team, including process engineering, IT, manufacturing engineering, quality, and manufacturing, to implement factory automation and manufacturing execution system for >40 step complex process flow with >75 pieces of equipment, and production flow of about one million parts per year. Improved the original manufacturing line design from baseline projections for output increase by 5% (> $10MM contributed margin) and for CapEx reduction by 25% (> $20MM). Used internal rate of return (IRR) financial model to justify (and to optimize) work in progress (WIP) accumulation for a projected CM increase > $5MM. After the decision to exit the business, led the team liquidating the physical assets of PrimeStar, and in the process returned >$50MM to business compared to baseline restructuring plan.

Designed, built, and led engineering and process development teams (from a single person to greater than 75 engineers and 8 functional groups - $15MM annual budget) that invented, developed (supplier selection & management, process identification & validation, researching and resolving problems, obtaining customer sign off), and delivered processes and equipment for greater than 15 SunFab Photovoltaic Manufacturing Lines globally, generating >$1.5B in revenue within 3 years. To achieve this accomplishment, created and implemented a global outsourcing strategy for the development, engineering, and manufacturing of all non-core equipment (greater than 125 units) used to build out the photovoltaic plants without building a large engineering overhead, generating more than $50 of new revenue for each engineering dollar spent. Partnered with over 10 suppliers on the approximately $50MM bill-of-materials to achieve the outsourcing strategy. Delivered fully functional factories that met/exceeded all customer specifications and internal design criteria.Successfully mentored teams, achieving a track record of staff promotions due to increased domain expertise, innovation, and organizational credibility. In one year, 2/3rds of direct reports received the highest ranking (top 5%). In another year, promotions for 1/3 of staff.Established technical credibility in order to build strong, trust based partnerships with photovoltaic customers in Europe and Asia during sales and startup phases, with personal involvement resulting in greater than $300MM in contracts.
