I resigned from Kirkland & Ellis LLP in 2021 to work on a legal tech business startup. Prototype has been released and tested by attorneys.

I will be advising the firm's clients on bankruptcy and financial restructuring matters as a partner in the firm's Restructuring Group.

My practice focused on restructuring and bankruptcy, including representation of chapter 11 debtors such as W. R. Grace & Co., Inc., UAL Corporation (United Airlines), J.L. French Automotive Castings, Inc., Calpine Corporation, Portola Packaging, Inc., SIRVA, Inc., Flying J Inc., and Corus Bankshares, Inc. My bankruptcy experience also included acting as special counsel to a chapter 7 trustee and the defense of a bankruptcy fraud prosecution. I have assisted in managing post-acquisition operational transitions of three businesses, and have held a senior management position in a chapter 11 debtor company. In 2016-2018 I was a Knowledge Management Attorney for the Kirkland Restructuring Group.

My arrangement of Le Thiere's L'Oiseau du Bois for Piccolo and strings was performed by the Grant Park Symphony, James Paul conducting and featuring Sally Sherwin as soloist, on July 3, 2000, with a simulcast on WFMT.My arrangement of Franz Krommer's Concerto for Two Clarinets and Orchestra Op. 35 for 10 winds has been performed by Larry Combs and Mel Warner with The Sheffield Winds; separately by Larry Combs at De Paul University; by the U.S. Army Field Band on tour with clarinetists Cathy Ogram (currently with Old Dominion University) and Tom Puwalski (now a free lance clarinetist and educator and author of "The Clarinetist’s Guide to Klezmer"); and by the Eastman Wind Ensemble under Donald Hunsberger with clarinetists Nathan Williams (currently on the faculty of the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin and principal clarinetist of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra) and Mary Beth Skaggs Malek (now on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and principal clarinetist of the Pittsburgh Opera).Several arrangements of mine were performed by the 266th U.S. Army Band. The Auburndale, Wisconsin commissioned me to do an arrangement. I am a former member of the American Society of Music Arrangers.In 2017 my composition "Mescalero Concert March" was premiered by Dr. David Fodor and the Wilmette Community Band, and also performed by Dr. Jeffrey Scott Doebler and the Windiana Concert Band (link below). Also in 2017 my composition "Regimental Slow March" was premiered by the South Shore Brass Band.

Formed consulting business to take advantage of successful marketing programs I created while at the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra. I made a presentation on orchestra marketing at the 2001 national conference of the League of American Orchestras. I also authored the guide "How to Sell More Tickets and Reach New Audiences Using a Database Marketing System," which explains a simple, proven system for orchestras and other performing arts groups to enjoy full houses.

I was one of the founding members of this woodwind sextet (pairs of clarinets, French horns and bassoons). We played the unique repertoire for this instrumental combination, featuring the Beethoven Op. 71 and including works by Mozart (the original sextet version of K. 375 which is more well known as an octet), Danzi, Castil-Blaze, Krommer, Kreutzer, Druschetsky, Von Weber, Pleyel, and others.

Chorus Master was Frank Almond. Performed works for chorus and orchestra with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, including Verdi's "Requiem" (1874) and Beethoven's "Symphony No. 9" (Op. 125, 1824). Performed Brahms songs for chorus and orchestra under Robert Shaw ("Nänie" (Op. 82, 1880); "Schicksalslied" (Op. 54, 1868); "Alto Rhapsody" (Op. 53, 1869). Also (without the orchestra) performed David Fanshawe's "African Sanctus" (1972).

Audience segmentation and analysis.

I was the founder and manager of chamber wind ensemble focusing on repertoire from the 18th-20th Centuries for 3-20 wind instruments. The group performed concert series in Chicago and North Suburbs. I served as chairman of the repertoire committee with Steven Ovitsky (now executive director of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival) and oboist Ronald Hounsell. Most of the members of the group were members of local orchestras in Chicago. Many members won auditions and were and are members of other orchestras in Chicago and elsewhere.

I organized musical events at the Sheffield Neighborhood Association's annual Garden Walk. In 1979 I conducted a large wind ensemble on DePaul University's Lincoln Park campus; in 1980 I organized and performed in a woodwind octet, and in 1981 I organized and performed in a woodwind sextet.

I was solo clarinetist (along with oboe, French horn and bassoon soloists) in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major, K.297b/Anh.C 14.01 with the Hyde Park Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Harold Klatz (violist with the Chicago Symphony).

I organized, managed and conducted a summer band in Lake Bluff, Illinois for three years, which performed in Lake Bluff parks.

I was a founding member of the Lakeside Woodwind Quintet. The ensemble performed at International House at the University of Chicago.

I was a private clarinet instructor at John Hersey High School.

I was hired to start an instrumental music program at the school. There were about 30 members of the band. I gave private lessons to all 30 instrumentalists. We performed a spring concert which was very well received.

I served in the Fifth Army Band at Ft. Sheridan and the 266th Army Band (USARV) at Long Binh. I was the Eb clarinetist in both bands. In Viet Nam I was the chief music librarian, a member of the woodwind quintet, and made several arrangements which were performed by the band. In 1970 I accompanied soprano Nan Nall (now Co-Producer/Artistic Director of Opera Theatre of Weston) in Schubert's Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (D.965) in performances at the French Cultural Center and Vietnamese-American Association in Saigon. I was also leader and lead singer of the unit's rock band, which performed in several venues in the Republic of Viet Nam.
