This industry cluster is comprised of all the industry participants that create and provide technology, components, products, systems, solutions or services tied to serving major energy, power and control segments. Specific COO responsibilities and activity oversight includes:• Membership and Business Development - membership relationships, new member recruiting / prospects management• Marketing & Communications -- all marketing & promotion of events, meetings, webinars, press, media relations • WERCBench Labs and Open Innovation activities - WERCBench Labs programming, mentors & events management• Working Groups and Committees- creation and management of Committees and Working Groups• Events, Meetings, and Webinars - all programming & member meetings, sponsorship & external events• Energy Innovation Center development and expansion - development of the Energy Innovation Center, including office space and lab & prototyping space; management of all future build-out plans and activities; recruit and retain tenants, start-up teams and lab tenants• Grant Acquisition - coordination of grant applications to seek additional revenue funding and diversity by tapping into federal, state, and local grant opportunities

    Director of the Energy Innovation Center at the Midwest Energy Research Consortium -- M-WERC.The Energy Innovation Center (EIC) is a facility designed for Energy, Power and Controls technology development programs – providing laboratory and office space for specialized R&D as well as manufacturing and office space for start-up industries. The EIC will also provide resources for support services, including program offices, business support services, economic development organizations, and workforce development activities related to its mission.As Director of the EIC, Jeff will coordinate and oversee M-WERC's efforts to to establish the Energy Innovation Center at the Century City Tower (former Eaton Corp. research building) at 4201 N. 27th St. The EIC will accelerate development of innovative technology in the energy, power and control industry. The center will allow M-WERC to create a unique space to bring together industry and academic scientists, engineers and business leaders to conduct joint research, jump start innovative technologies, transition prototype products to the commercial stage, and nurture start-up companies.This is a key initiative because the energy, power and control industry is one of the fastest- growing sectors with the strongest competitive drivers of any industry sector in the state, and the market for energy technology is expected to expand dramatically in the new few years.
