I love to dig into problems and solve them with technology. I have always had a passion to innovate and improve everything and technology is a very effective tool to do it with. When I graduated college, I stumbled across a job as an engineer for an AV Technology company. I was answering an ad for contract work, but after meeting with them and reviewing my resume, they offered me a full-time engineering position instead. I was hooked. I remember thinking it was amazing they paid people to play with technology using cool software tools all day. I never looked back. I’ve been in the AV technology space ever since, innovating for over 25 years now.As I have moved into leadership roles, my focus has shifted from working directly with client to working with employees, with the understanding that taking care of them means they can take care of customers. I want to help others to have an opportunity to experience the same thing as I did. Instead of innovating using technology, I now focus on innovating by improving business processes, people, and culture.In my career, I’ve enjoyed positions such as Technician, Project Manager, Engineer, Programmer, Technical Operations Director, and now General Manager. When making decisions to lead a business, it helps to have a broad understanding of lower level operations.My experience has taught me that I can:• Align, lead, and grow teams of people • Put the customer at the center of all I do• Speak tech and exec• The buck stops with me• Stay calm when faced with adversity
