Jeff was responsible for all aspects of custom software development, from the identification of business opportunities through software deployment and maintenance. His primary accomplishment was the design and implementaiton of a web-based content management system which supported structured change management of content according to Robert’s Rules of Order. The resulting solution supported over 900 simultaneous client sessions and relied upon a nominal hardware investment. Relating to this content management application, Jeff performed all requirements gathering, directly interacting with Client (Presbyterian Church (USA)) business experts to document and analyze the business life-cycle. The Unified Modeling Language was used to design the solution’s architecture - a multi-tenant web application (i.e. Application Service Provider model). Database development included database partitioning, bi-directional replication, table/relationship definitions, index creation/maintenance and stored procedure implementations. Application implementation was a pattern-based, object-oriented solution using ASP.NET 2.0, extensive AJAX messaging and a thorough implementation of Telerik’s r.a.d controls suite. The runtime platform consisted of multiple Windows Server 2003 (Enterprise) platforms with both SQL Server 2005 (Enterprise) databases and Internet Information Server (IIS) 6.0 web servers. Additionally, Jeff fully implemented all aspects of a Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2005 environment, enabling inter/intra-organizational access to project management information. He was also responsible for the migration of ABS’ static website to a SQL Server 2005, IIS 6.0 and ASP.NET 2.0 environment using Microsoft’s “Atlas” web components

Jeff engaged Energy Central (a CyberTech, Inc. subsidiary which produces an information portal for the energy industry) as a Sales force automation and software development consultant. Performed all project management responsibilities including resource management, issue escalation, expectation management, scheduling, assessment and risk mitigation. Involved with strategic technological planning based on Energy Central’s business objectives. Responsible for the entire development life-cycle, from requirements gathering/management to deployment and maintenance using a variety of technologies.One of the Energy Central’s core business products was a portal-based, industry-specific news service. The existing architecture relied upon the manual initiation of a Microsoft Access database to process the satellite-based news feed in batch. This was replaced with real-time parsing of the news feed using regular expression pattern matching, Visual Basic (6) and SQL Server (2000).Jeff also developed a new application to run as a background service on Windows 2000 and interface with the Energy Central’s Vodavi Triad 1 phone system to insert real-time call log data into SQL Server (2000). The data was then published to the company’s intranet using ColdFusion MX.Lastly, Jeff performed custom development within GoldMine CRM environment to support Energy Central’s sales force automation objectives. The sales life-cycle was automated across three major revenue-producing products and included the integration of GoldMine with the company's website.

Jeff served as an Object-Oriented web developer supporting MCI/Worldcom’s consumer account management application. The application was maintained using Apple's WebObjects development environment, Objective-C, HTML and Javascript. CVS was used for configuration management and graphics were maintained with Adobe Photoshop. The platform consisted of Apache web servers and Informix databases which ran on Solaris servers. Jeff maintained calling plan and rate modifications, partner promotions and statement presentation. Assisted with project assessment and Performed bi-weekly software release cycle on a national scale.

Jeff reported to the Vice President and Director of Information Systems and was extensively involved in the development life cycle of IOA’s core business application. This included Object-Oriented development using the NEXSTEP IDE, Objective-C, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, Oracle, StepStone Pre-Compiler and SQA Suite. Developed thorough understanding of object-oriented design and programming concepts. Participated in all phases of development work, from requirements gathering to deployment. Responsible for all testing efforts. This included the coordination of user testing and creation of automated testing environment using SQA Basic and the SQA suite (now Rational). Conducted monthly pre-release meetings with the user community.
