Truman Middle School

-Teaching multiple PLTW curriculums, including Design & Modeling, Automation & Robotics, App Creators, Computer Science for Innovators & Makers, and Magic of Electrons. I lead training for new Project Lead the Way teachers. Core training sessions involves an intense, week-long class designed to not only allow new teachers to learn the content like a student, but also develop strategies for how to implement it. For many trainees, this involves a drastic shift in mindset to understand PLTW's unique problem-based approach to learning compared to more traditional teaching strategies. This position also requires evaluating trainees for both their understanding of the content and their readiness to teach the material. I am currently certified to lead Design & Modeling, Automation & Robotics, App Creators, and Computer Science for Innovators & Makers.In 2018, I was certified to lead Online Core Training (OCT) following completion of training.In 2019, I launched a collaborative effort to create a curated set of resources for all middle school PLTW teachers. The resources would be used to enhance their curriculum and/or further their own knowledge. Any PLTW teacher can submit resources and additional teachers have volunteered to help curate the collection.
