Worked on the second half of two year project sponsored by Aerojet Rocketdyne. Optimized a water recirculation system designed to create vibrational excitation in a bellows expansion joint and implemented vibration suppression technology. Exercised real life problem solving skills by troubleshooting mechanical systems. Learned engineering design processes, rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing. Gained applied knowledge of strain gauge systems, materials, data acquisition tools, and safety. Gathered an existing company US patent and created described damper devices. Developed and tested additional damper solutions.
