Senior team member & technical team lead responsible for: impact analysis, risk assessment, technical team leadership/mentoring, evaluating new technologies, requirements gathering, technical analysis & design, production support, development of deployment plans, implementation of new solutions & enhancements, administering code reviews.★Design & development of middleware system integrating SAP HR system with multiple distributed labor scheduling, forecasting, time tracking & payroll systems used at Disneyland California, Walt Disney World, and Hong Kong Disney. Automated & enhanced communication among these systems reducing need for manual effort and improving synchronization, consistency & accuracy of data across the entire enterprise. It also included the design and implementation of robust reporting & notification features.★Development of enhancements & new functionality for middleware system of the Disney reservation systems facilitating communication between disparate & distributed Disney applications as well as third party systems. ★Development of flexible & easily extensible rich internet development framework & user interface application for administering the applications involved with supporting reservation requests from outside vendors. ★Maintenance & enhancement of the front-end Disney reservation system including a Web user interface & coordination of communication with multiple back-end reservation applications. This application manages reservations for hotel rooms, discount packages, tickets, transportation & more across many distributed back-end systems via aforementioned Disney reservation middleware system. Enhancements include significantly improved performance & end-user experience by incorporating rich internet technologies & multi-threaded processing techniques. Senior team member on a team that developed enhancements and new functionality for database administration software for Oracle, MS SQL Server and and DB2 UDB. The application could be installed, upgraded and patched via the Web but had a rich client Java Swing interface and could be used for creating, modifying, and scripting relational database objects, creating and scheduling reports, monitoring database events, and editing data. My responsibilities included taking several product features through the complete development cycle from research and requirements gathering, impact analysis, writing and reviewing technical specifications, development, coding, and unit testing. I successfully completed six out of six development cycles on or before the scheduled deadline during my 3 years with BMC.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I developed software for supply-chain execution, inventory control, and warehouse management solutions by enabling Oracle PL/SQL developers to interface with hardware devices such as barcode scanners and industrial equipment via easy to use PL/SQL packages. I was responsible for re-architecting their original product written in C into a more robust and easily extensible Java product capable of executing on many more platforms than previously such as Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX and Dynix. I provided project leadership to a team of developers in extending the functionality of the product to communicate with many more hardware devices than previously including: industrial scales and carousels, programmable logic controllers, a custom web applet, and many additional barcode printer models. A compact but extensible engine facilitated the communication between these devices and Oracle via a combination of sockets and Oracle pipes using many different standard and proprietary communication protocols. Functionality was easily extended by development of plug-in Java libraries. PL/SQL applications could then communicate with the devices using the basic PL/SQL API or by using an easy-to-use device-specific API that was provided with each plug-in.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

During this time I worked on a mix of full-time and part-time projects for multiple clients. As a member of the User Interface Architecture team at TeleCheck I successfully balanced work on multiple, simultaneous projects using primarily C++, but also C and DCL. This team was primarily responsible for developing libraries and frameworks for use by other development teams.Some of my projects included:* design and development of an automated report generation framework which greatly reduced the time required to generate custom reports for TeleCheck's many customers* a character-based window framework to greatly extend the functionality and usefullness of Telecheck's many VT terminals* an automated check printing program* extensive set of re-usable C++ class utility libraries that reduced the development time required by other development groups* a program to analyze the logs of the phone management system in order to generate reports containing various statistcs regarding phone usage▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I managed a team responsible for a Wang VS minicomputer system, an AT&T phone system, office PC's and the building security system. I developed new programs and modified existing applications in COBOL as needed, and maintained many data repositories and my responsibilities also included the supervision of other employees. Whle there I was responsible for the conversion of many large databases into a more efficient and compact format, as well as the creation of extensive system documentation resulting in better performance, improved data integrity, and reduced system down-time.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
