I believe that in-house attorneys can wear multiple hats. I am a business-minded attorney who has been fortunate to spend much of my legal career working in the setting that I enjoy most: in-house in a business environment. I have had the opportunity to serve my employers with sound legal advice, transactional, and business support, as well as intellectual property portfolio management. Through the negotiation, drafting and analysis of legal documents, agreements, marketing materials and policies, I have helped to protect my employers while balancing business considerations and needs. I believe in fine print.While many people share the sentiment that reading the fine print can be as exciting as watching paint dry, to me the fine print is what can make or break a transaction, cause or prevent liability, grant or waive some or all of one's rights and more. This is my domain and I am adept at translating the "Legalese" to make it easier for my colleagues, clients and their customers to understand. I reject the notion that attorneys are stuffy, dull and narrow-minded. It is possible to be an attorney who is personable, collaborative, extroverted, human and, dare I say it, humorous. I enjoy working in close collaboration with my non-attorney counterparts in order to achieve a common goal as well as find business-friendly, budget-friendly and customer-friendly solutions. I work hard, play hard and I thrive in an upbeat and dynamic work environment.
