Built a feature called Audiogon Boosts enabling sellers to purchase targeted impressions for their listings. 1.5 million impressions were purchased within the first week of release – 65 million in the first year.Working with two other devs, rebuilt the entire site to be responsive across all devices. Special emphasis was given to the smartphone-sized UI/UX to make sure our mobile segment of users could have a very enjoyable experience, while lacking nothing in functionality.Rebuilt/redesigned the homepage to include personalized recommendations for users based on browsing behaviors, custom-built infinite scrolling for featured listings, a more visual browsing experience, and prominent content marketing features. As a result, user engagement dramatically increased.Built behavioral tracking functionality to monitor users'​ site usage - viewing, searching, bidding, buying, etc. As part of this, also built a recommendation engine to make intelligent suggestions (things they may like) based on the users'​ behavioral data. The recommendation engine grows "smarter"​ over time, as the users' behavioral data increases.Built several security features, including:- Security questions- Two-factor authentication for unrecognized/unsaved devices and dormant user accounts- Single-use user-specific auth tokensHelped to rebuild internal site-management admin tools, enabling the Support staff to do their jobs quicker and more accurately - ultimately resulting in a better overall experience for users.

PostPilot (formerly MailSnail) helps businesses create and manage Direct Mail campaigns to reach existing and potential customers. PostPilot exists for the sole purpose of eliminating all of the pain-points that businesses of any size currently deal with in attempting to implement an effective Direct Mail strategy.My co-founder, Matt Bertino, and I built this as a business and as a product entirely from the ground up. The application was originally built utilizing Ember for the frontend and Rails (API-only) for the backend but has now been rebuilt as a Rails monolith, utilizing Stimulus for any frontend enhancements.

This included a JavaScript-enhanced client-facing web portal, SQL Server, C#, and an ASP.NET credit card payment website.Was responsible for the data and source-code maintenance of a fulfillment project for a top health insurance organization - this project being the company's largest single source of revenue.Helped to create and maintain the company website - Heeter.com - using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DotNetNuke as the CMS.

Built on approximately 7,900 lines of VBA, created a Job Order Entry system for the Variable Data division of the company which dramatically increased quality control and clarity of expectations for jobs to be processed.Helped to define, create, and implement many of the data standards and infrastructure that lead to the company becoming ISO:27001 certified in June 2012.Wrote several applications utilizing Visual FoxPro, SQL Server, and Pervasive PSQL that were utilized by the Data Processing department to drastically decrease processing time, increase quality control, and eliminate human error.

Designed, coded, debugged, documented, implemented, and maintained in-house data-centric desktop and console applications primarily geared towards direct-mail campaigns and their subsequent back-end tracking/reporting.Worked heavily with several different linear barcodes (Code 128, POSTNET, PLANET, Intelligent Mail Barcode) and 2d barcodes (DataMatrix, PDF417, QR Code). My experience includes correct barcode creation and acceptable content to ensure data integrity, proper printing to ensure scan-ability, and extensive possibilities for usage when scanned (including writing the needed technology to make use of scanned data).Helped to transition several million dollars worth of work from our Chicago division to our Greenville division to reduce organizational expenses and increase profitability.
