Responsible for managing the underwriting team for and ensuring the credit quality of the Tennessee and Northwest Georgia commercial portfolio.

Shared responsibility for opening the first and only MidSouth Bank office in the market and developing a presence for a new community bank in Okaloosa and Walton Counties, FL. Primarily focused on introducing the Bank to the customers and centers of influence in the market, developing new business opportunities, properly underwriting new loan opportunities, and pursuing depository opportunities. Customers included traditional C&I companies, Commercial Real Estate Developers, Medical Practices, Religious Organizations, Defense Contractors, and Homebuilders.

I had primary responsibility for crafting and directing the Bank’s commercial banking strategy in the market. Managed and coordinated with the local Advisory Board of Directors to generate referrals and business opportunities. Coordinated with other lines of business, primarily Retail and Wealth Management, to generate cross-line referral opportunities and worked with specialty sales officers (Treasury Services, Interest Rate Risk Management, etc.) to achieve fee income goals. Primary market included Okaloosa and Walton Counties, FL. Secondary market included Bay County, FL. Customers included traditional C&I companies, Commercial Real Estate Developers, Automobile Dealers (Floor Plan Financing), Medical Practices, Religious Organizations, and Governmental and Institutional entities.

I had primary responsibility for growing the commercial loan portfolio for the local market (includes Okaloosa and Walton Counties). Customers included traditional Commercial & Industrial companies, Governmental and Institutional entities, Religious Organizations, Automobile Dealers (floor plan financing) and Commercial Real Estate Developers.

I had primary responsibility for crafting and directing the marketing strategy for the Dealer Financial Services Sales Team in the Capital Region (Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland).

I had primary responsibility for the credit quality of the Georgia Regional Corporate Portfolio (excluding Hospitals and Governmental Entities). The credit exposure of this portfolio was in excess of $900 million.

I had primary responsibility for the credit quality of the Virginia Dealer Financial Services Commercial Portfolio. The credit exposure of my portfolio was in excess of $400 million. Additionally, I provided training in credit analysis and underwriting to the Relationship Managers in the Virginia Dealer Financial Services group.

I had primary responsibility for the credit quality of the Virginia Eastern Region Commercial Real Estate Portfolio. The credit exposure of my portfolio was in excess of $400 million.

I had responsibility for growing the commercial real estate loan portfolio for the Hampton Roads market in Virginia. This was an out-of-market loan production office that was opened in March 1996. In addition to relationship management and expansion and new business development responsibilities, I was responsible for underwriting large commercial real estate projects and tracking the progress of large construction loans.

Based in Greenville, NC and Elizabeth City, NC. I had responsibility for growing the commercial loan portfolio for the local markets. During my time in this position, I performed underwriting and relationship management duties for commercial customers, commercial real estate customers, governmental entities and agricultural customers.
