I managed the day-to-day activities of a team of 26 employees. This group is made up of a 2-person sales team, 5 Network Consultants, 4 Front End Web Developers, 3 Graphic Designers, 7 Application Developers, 2 dedicated Project Managers, a UX Engineer, an SEO/SEM Specialist, and an Administrative Assistant. The team provides graphic design, website development, custom web application programming, search engine optimization and secure website hosting for over 200 active customers. It is also responsible for the development and maintenance of the web sites for all other divisions within LRS. The team also works with the LRS Marketing-Communications team to develop promotional videos and trade show/sales materials.I was responsible for managing the overall direction, profitability and success of this group. This included delivery of web development services, network support services, website hosting and sales. Other responsibilities included strategic planning, forecasting, business development, vendor partnerships, marketing, resources deployment, problem resolution, customer satisfaction and interviewing/hiring new employees.

In addition to my duties as a Visual Communication Specialist, my responsibilities included assisting the Web Solutions Manager in distribution of graphic design work (resource allocation), design quality assurance, adherence to scope, risk management and timely delivery of design work. I was also asked to make recommendations for improving overall graphic design direction, skills, tools and processes. I recommended individual objectives and performance feedback for design team members. I mentored other designers and I helped to integrate new team members throughout the Web Solutions team.

Springfield, Illinois Area

Duties included design and layout of both client and internal web sites. I worked closely with web coordinators, developers and programmers in a team structure to create web sites from initial design to launch.

Duties included designing print materials and supervising a staff of 6 full time and 2 part time production people in the creation of print and electronic advertising materials.
