About Jeffrey Cooper
I am a Non-Executive Director, Board Advisor and Executive Director with over 10 years board level experience across the management consulting, retail, technology, food & beverages and financial services industries. Now, more than ever, culture and customer centricity are board matters because they mitigate risk and drive sustainability and long term growth. Governing these elements for organisations with multimillion-dollar marketing budgets and who are experiencing a diminished return on their invested growth capital is what I do. I do that by leveraging decades of experience advising boards on customer and brand, retail marketing, new product development and sales strategies. More specifically, I guide businesses in how to grow in the face of increased competition or disruption by developing new customer-centric market opportunities or new products and help them understand what good looks like in terms of marketing investment and return in a way that facilitates greater returns for shareholders and stakeholders. In an executive capacity, I grew Step Change a Strategy Consultancy specialising in customer advisory with significant and enduring engagements across Financial Services, Main Grocery, FMCG, Food Service and Manufacturing. In this role, I drove new product development processes, competitive intelligence, consumer insight generation, marketing and product investment and return and importantly how to reduce risk associated with those investments. After selling my interest in Step Change I now hold a portfolio of Board and Board Advisory Appointments including: Non-Executive Director at Appellon, Business Excellence Australia; Board Member (Advisory) at Charlie’s Fine Food Co., Makinex Tools, Ethical Fields and The Real Thing. Finally, I have a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Marketing and am a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
