Lead Manufacturing Engineer responsible for all aspects of assembly process for a highly complex military mobile air traffic control system. Assembly and Test processing. Equipment review, purchase, processing and tooling. Bid activity support. Resource utilization and process optimization. Directed the activities of two Manufacturing Engineers in support of production.* Developed a simple repair solution for a catastrophic mechanical failure in fielded units that saved units from being returned for repair resulting in a $1M savings.* Developed a mechanical design change for a Circuit Card Assembly basket that decreased the time required to make a field repair from 16 hours to one hour.* Implemented Continuous Process Improvement utilizing six Sigma tools. Each year achieved 10% cycle-time reduction on targeted processes.* Reviewed/approved all proposed drawing changes. Responsible for implementation of changes into production.* Provided field support both on site and via telecon for a wide range of issues.* Served dual role of Mechanical Assembly and Electrical Test processing for a military radio communications product.* Served as Lead SMT Engineer for two years and experienced with Leaded RF CCA fabrication as well.
