By enabling anyone to be the star of their own music video, StarMaker identifies, develops and launches talent. Its mission is to move content creation and talent discovery from traditional media to the mobile and social space, combining the power of broadcast talent programs, interactive music apps, recording studio technology and crowd-sourced talent discovery. StarMaker also integrates major media brands and recording artists. Jeff negotiated major partnerships with American Idol, America’s Got Talent, Philips Electronics, the San Francisco Giants and the worldwide hit TV program The Voice. Prior to StarMaker, Jeff was co-owner of pioneering music branding agency Rock River Music. Under his leadership, Rock River created the groundbreaking “non-traditional retail” distribution channel for music. Beginning with Gap and Pottery Barn in 1995, Rock River was the first producer of branded CDs for retailers. Jeff solidified Rock River’s position as the leading music-based marketing strategy firm for major retailers and brands by guiding music strategy for Fortune 500 brands and producing music products, media players, download promotions, podcasts and other music promotions for such brands as Adidas, The Gap, Pottery Barn, Banana Republic, W Hotels, Ford, Wells Fargo, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Williams-Sonoma, Old Navy, Ford, Holiday Inn, Jaguar, Sprite, Radio Shack, Sprint and many others. Jeff also helmed Rock River’s record label, Rockr Music, which released Bob Marley’s “Roots, Rock Remixed,” the first ever Bob Marley remix project sanctioned by the Marley family. Jeff is a graduate of Brown University, a recipient of Time Inc.’s Marketing Achievement Award and the producer of over 200 albums including an RIAA-certified Gold Record.
