I led the development and operations pipelines for MarketWatch.com, BigCharts.com, MarketWatch Games (formerly VirtualStockExchange.com) and MarketWatch iOS and Android mobile apps; sites that served approximately 20 million unique visitors per month and cumulative app installs over 1.5 million at the time. I managed a team including developers, QA and business analysts.

I was hired as a technical manager to bring structure and organization to a development team that had grown extremely rapidly over the previous year. I led the Ngin Core development team with responsibilities including the core content management system, registration and financial components, and other core back-end services utilized by the platform.

Software development in the Licensing group of the Enterprise Media division of Dow Jones. Work has included development and support of incoming and outgoing news feeds to and from hundreds of vendors. Also working on an AJAX-enabled web application to stream quotes and news to licensee web sites. Brunt of development is in .NET environment.

I was hired as part of a small development team to re-develop a software solution currently running in a mainframe environment. The goal was to eliminate the yearly cost (~ $12 million) of the mainframe. Development was mostly done in C and Perl in a Sun server environment. The software can best be described as high performance list processing software that supported Fair Isaac's Marketing Services group.

I was a software developer at Harmonic Systems, which was acquired by Alliance Data Systems shortly after I started there. We wrote and maintained credit card transaction capture and settlement software for retail customers. Development was mostly done in C and Perl.

I was hired to write custom ETL software to support a loan origination and collections organization. I also wrote loaders to feed data into a reporting data warehouse. Development was done mostly in C. SQL was widely used.
