Dr. Killian focuses his practice on assisting companies and inventors in securing and enforcing patent protection for their inventions. He works with both large companies and universities (and their start-up companies) preparing patent applications across a broad range of technologies including materials science, solid-state physics, surface science, organic conductor/semiconductors, charge storage devices and electrochemistry, and nanotechnology. Dr. Killian also represents clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, regularly counsels clients in intellectual property opinions, and enforces clients' intellectual property rights in litigation matters both in district courts and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also has assisted with international enforcement of patent rights in Europe and in China.
