I'm a hands-on product development professional, launching new technology in collaboration with experts including professional engineers, urban planners, roboticists and user experience designers. Like an artist, I think of my superpower as being able to imagine new futures as a "professional amateur": acknowledging but putting aside prior assumptions and always asking questions.My broad, full-stack technical experience allows me to prototype and demonstrate a solution early, earning the trust of stakeholders and working to minimize risks. My consulting background allows me to get up to speed with a new domain quickly. Grew up in Detroit, so transportation is in the blood. Career accomplishments include re-imagining out-of-home transit advertising as a way to fund customer experience innovations; successfully piloting and then scaling a machine-learning-powered arrival prediction system to serve New York City's 2 million+ daily bus riders; and launching an online experience to share never-before-captured gigapixel+ images from around the world, using technology from NASA's Endurance Mars rover.At Public Works Office, I continue this history of user-focused innovation, including coaching/leading existing teams and/or pulling from my network of trusted past collaborators across a number of disciplines to service bigger engagements. Key services include: ✅ Business development: including proposal responses, strategy and teaming; ✅ Project and product management: agile or hybrid agile-waterfall; feature prioritization and roadmapping, as well as scrum activities; ✅ Systems architecture, including performance optimization, scaling and migration to public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure); ✅ Business analysis and requirements gathering: usually in collaboration with a design/user-research team; ✅ Software development: front- and back-end (primarily ReactJS/Java Spring Boot), including some work with microcontrollers and embedded systems (in C mostly).
