Self-awareness is critical to leverage our inherent strengths; understanding others improves our communication. These are key to success. MY EXPERIENCEI spent over 20 years as a successful sales professional in the enterprise software industry. I enjoy public speaking and storytelling, and sales came naturally to me. I learned early that sales is an honorable profession and I always strived to live by that. In 2014 my career took me to stages in new countries as I led a global crowdsourcing initiative within quantitative finance that grew from 0 to 130,000 people in a short period. I had the privilege of speaking at top international universities, while presenting at various global business conferences.At Section 810 Communications I have the privilege to teach professionals how to increase their level of influence through effective communication. WHAT WE DOPeople often ask Why the name Section 810 Communications? There are really two reasons.We help clients improve their level of influence. On the “Influence Gauge”, we want our clients to score between 8-10 on a scale of 1-10. But in reality, Section 810 has a much deeper meaning. Growing up in New Jersey, we had different “sections” in school. In 8th grade there was Section 8-1, 8-2, etc. I was in Section 8-10. While we weren’t lacking intellectually, we also weren’t considered the “smartest” kids in school. And we knew it. Years later I reconnected with an old classmate from Section 8-10. We were reminiscing about our youth and our current lives. Both of us had enjoyed success in our careers and she said to me “We didn’t do too bad coming out of Section 8-10 did we?”. I realized then that NO ONE can determine how much we accomplish in life. It’s entirely up to us. I motivate others to be their absolute best, regardless of what anyone else (or the voice of self-doubt) says.
