I'm a Software Engineer, Architect and Technical Lead with 25 years of programming experience, and I've taken several Enterprise projects from Requirements Analysis into Production, meeting tight deadlines with limited resources.Though the majority of my experience has been with Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Development using Java, I have also developed and maintained applications written in ColdFusion, Fortran, SAS, C, Visual Basic, and Perl. And, though my skills skew more toward server-side development, I have also developed and maintained desktop clients using Java Swing, and web front-ends using HTML, Bootstrap, JQuery and Angular 1.x/5+.My recent experience has been in the Property and Casualty Insurance domain where I have designed, developed and technically led projects to replace legacy Claims, Document Management, Commercial Policy Quoting, and Task Management systems, as well as leading and developing on projects to integrate with 3rd party systems and APIs. I also made numerous enhancements to the custom-built Quoting and Policy Management web application.In 2015 I led a project to replace the organization's home-grown Application Security solution with a 3rd party commercial product. This involved enhancements to all of our core Business Applications, as well as a complex data migration effort. In addition to technically leading in-house and consultant development teams, I took responsibility for implementing several key components.I have also maintained and enhanced HIPAA-compliant Pharmacy Customer Management software. I've implemented a system to provide long-range weather forecasts in support of military planning by interpolating Climatological model data points. I've maintained the Air Force's Personnel Management and Assignments System. I designed, and led a small team in implementing, a Government Purchase Card tracking and accounting Web Application. I've even maintained tape-silo software running on Unisys mainframes.

I architected and designed a new Property and Casualty (P&C) Claims system, then led in-house and offshore teams in development of the system, as well as its integration with multiple other systems.I was the designer and technical lead on the integration of multiple applications with a new (contractor-built) Insurance Billing/Stats/Commissions system using REST, ActiveMQ, and Apache Kafka.I designed and implemented a Document management service (SOA), migrating 8 TB of Policy and Claims documents to AWS S3, also implementing document downloads for web application(s) users, using expiring JWT tokens.I developed a microservices-based, hybrid cloud architecture for a new Commercial P&C Quoting application, then served as the technical lead over in-house and offshore (consultant) development teams.I reengineered the company's (Insurance) Policy Tasks/Notes system and integrated it via REST and ActiveMQ with the P&C Personal Lines Policy Management and Billing/Stats/Commissions systems.I served as both technical lead and developer on the organization's Application Security re-architecture project, which included implementation of Single Sign-On for all core Business Applications.
