As President of TD Cowen, a division of TD Securities, I collaborate with colleagues across the Bank to build an incredible organization by bringing the best of ourselves and what we do to serve clients and the communities in which we live and work. Prior to joining the TD family in March 2023, I spent nearly 30 years at the same firm - first at Ramius and subsequently at Cowen following a business combination of the two companies in 2009. As the industry changed over the years, so did the organization, providing me with the opportunity to perform a number of roles prior to becoming CEO including: portfolio manager, Chief Strategy Officer, Head of Investment Banking, Chief Operating Officer and President. As a passionate advocate for small companies and emerging businesses, I also spend time providing advice on policy matters related to small business capital formation. I am a Trustee on the Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board (CED) and serve on the board of the American Securities Association (ASA). From 2019 – 2023, I was the Vice Chair and an inaugural member of the SEC’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee, which provides advice and recommendations on Commission rules, regulations and policy matters related to small businesses. Previously, I was the co-chair of the Equity Capital Formation Task Force and an inaugural member of the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation (CCMR), a non-profit organization dedicated to efficient capital markets and the stability of financial system. Philanthropy is an important way to make a difference. I currently serve on the boards of Tree of Life Inc. as well as the Foundation for Jewish Camp. Working as a camp counselor and program director for Emma Kaufmann Camp during high school and college served as a foundation for many valuable skills I continue to use today.
