I perform a variety of coastal and ocean engineering analysis, including: - Numerical modeling of waves, tides, storm surge, and sediment transport (including MIKE, Delft3D, and XBeach). - Simulation of moored vessels (shore-fixed terminals, multi-buoy moorings, spread moorings, and single point moorings) using aNyMoor-TERMSIM and ANSYS-AQWA. - Analysis of Automatic Identification System (AIS) vessel data to evaluate vessel traffic patterns. - Real-time ship simulations (TRANSAS NTPro) for evaluating navigation aspects of channel and harbor navigation design. These have mainly been feasibility level studies to evaluate required tug power, extent of dredged areas, required aids to navigation, etc.

Performed flooding analysis for nuclear power plants, including flood mechanism such as local intense rainfall, flooding from streams and rivers, storm surges, and tsunamis.Much of this flooding analysis was associated with the Post Fukushima analysis required by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission. I also worked with some pilot studies for Probabilistic Flood Hazard Assessment (PFHA) for nuclear plants.

Conducted research related to Ocean Wave Energy Conversion with emphasis on coastal wave modeling and wave-structure interaction.A portion of this research at Oregon State University (OSU) was conducted as part of the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center (NNMREC), a joint program between Oregon State University and the University of Washington to pursue wave and tidal energy.Presented research at three international Conferences (the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Ocean Sciences meeting, the AGU fall meeting, and the International Conference on Coastal Engineering (ICCE)) and published three articles relating to this research.
