I've led sales, marketing and business development for companies from startups to Fortune 500 companies. In working in marketing and innovation, for large and small companies, I've had the opportunity to link to strategy or in some cases develop corporate strategy.I also teach part-time at SKEMA US, leading graduate level classes on strategy, new product development and digital marketing. My content generation follows these passions - I've written several books on innovation, including Relentless Innovation, and co-authored a book on strategy entitled OutManeuver. I write the Innovate on Purpose blog, which has been recognized as one of the top innovation blogs for over a decade.My focus in innovation and strategy leads me to the "front end", primarily focusing on trend spotting, scenario planning, future forecasting, opportunity definition and finding and understanding unmet needs, using tools like ethnography and customer experience journey. I lead workshops and speak regularly to groups on these topics, as well as innovation culture. I've defined innovation teams and processes for Fortune 500 companies and led large scale disruptive innovation projects.Before working in innovation I had the opportunity to work with a range of interesting companies, almost always in a consulting, sales or marketing role. With Clarkston I led sales for a firm that achieved INC 500 fastest growth company list 3 years in a row. With several rapidly growing companies I helped raise close to $30M in venture capital.
