Environmental Engineer
CurrentRosebud Operating Services operates two coal and petroleum coke steam generating power plants located in Colstrip, MT and Billings, MT.In my position, some of my responsibilities include;▪ Providing technical direction and guidance as well as hands on project management for all regulatory compliance.▪ Supporting the data collection and reporting of raw materials usage and reduction of operating costs.▪ Compiling environmental data, and preparing quarterly, semiannual, and annual environmental compliance reports.▪ Ensuring that regulatory compliance procedures and guidelines are current, correctly defined, and documented.▪ Preparing and interpreting blueprints, schematic drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and other visual aids.▪ Performing engineering duties surrounding environmental control, energy conversion, and petroleum chemicals.▪ 20% - 30% travel to plant locations in Billings and Colstrip.▪ Inspecting grounds at plants annually for comprehensive site inspections regarding Storm Water Pollution Provention Plans (SWPPPs).In 2016, I began a project tracking mercury emission levels at our Colstrip plant to ensure the company's compliance with Mercury Air Toxicity Standards (MATS) regulations from the EPA and DEQ were being met. This project has now expanded to the Billings plant, where we installed a sorbent trap system in summer 2017.Monthly, quarterly, semiannually, and annually, I submit operational data for each plant to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
