Responsibilities I was the Head Band Director where I was in charge of the development of programs and management of staff. I was also in charge of development of a budget for the band program. I worked extensively with parents and students which shows my ability to work well with others. Accomplishments My band program received a Sweepstakes for 12 straight years. We also went to area marching contest 7 times in a row (every other year process) and went and received 5th place at the state marching contest in 2001. Skills Used Recruitment and Retention were very important and I did a great job of that. Music education and responsibility were skills that I taught on a daily basis.

Responsibilities I was the assistant band director in charge of the Middle School Band program. I learned my skills to become a head director on this job. I worked with 350 students daily at the Middle School level where I was the only band director for 8 years. My responsibilty was to develop those band students to be in the band program at the high school level. My duties were to work with the band students in the morning before school, teach 6 periods a day which included teaching at the high school level as an assistant marching band director, jazz director, clerical work, friday night football games and all contests and concerts. Accomplishments The band program went from a small group of students at the high school level to a Sweepstakes award winning band program in those 8 years I was there. The band grew from around 90 members in 1990 to 165 members. At the Middle school level, we when from 80 students my first year to 207 by 1998. The 6th grade band was a small group of students to having 170 student each year by 1992. Skills Used Recruitment and Retention were very important and I did a great job of that. Music education and responsibility were skills that I taught on a daily basis.
