Over the course of more than two decades as the CEO of five public and private companies, I have focused on transforming data-intensive, technology-enabled businesses into industry leaders. In each case, I infused organizations with a strong sense of purpose, leading them to better serve their customers, enhance their business models, capitalize on new technologies, and unlock new markets. During this time, I completed two IPOs, two strategic sales, more than thirty acquisitions, and served as an independent director for two public companies.At the heart of my approach is the creation of high-performance, purpose-driven cultures that enable people to do the best work of their careers in service to their customers, shareholders, colleagues, communities, and the world. Personally, I thrive on coaching others to be the best they can be, and I am especially proud that more than two dozen former direct reports have gone on to become CEOs themselves.My current mission is board work and coaching purpose-driven CEOs to peak performance and personal fulfillment. My practice is focused on serving talented CEOs who have—or are seeking—a strong sense of purpose. In my experience, leaders with purpose attract and retain a higher caliber of talent, delight customers, deliver superior returns to shareholders, and make the world a better place.
