I have over thirty-five years’ experience working in and with IT departments for various-size companies. I have worked in software implementation & development, user support, operations, networking, business analysis, project management and departmental management. I have always strived to be an IT professional who does more than simply provide technology, instead integrating IT as a strategic part of the success of the business. It’s not about the tool, but the use of the right tool, in the right place, at the right time.Reaching across the traditional boundaries of IT and into business areas such as process improvement, strategic planning, product development, and marketing campaigns, has allowed me to bridge the gap between technology and business. I communicate well with technology professionals as well as business professionals, as I speak and understand both languages.My passions are leadership, process improvement, and Agile. I believe that people and the culture of the business are critical keys to success for any company. I agree completely with the philosophy that great leaders don’t just happen, they are developed. I have been involved in, and led, process improvement teams both inside and outside the IT department. I continue to study, learn and apply principles of leadership and improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, in both my personal and professional life.
