Platform Start-up; created a new online trade finance platform from scratch with partners. Designed the process, enhanced business growth and investment by transforming business models and establishing strong relationships with partners and clients. Following a management buy-out, I joined the company to create the business models to turnaround, grow, invest and innovate the company. This has been achieved by controlling sales forecasting vs actual analyses to facilitate decision-making, and improving cashflow by reducing stock and debtor positions, and adding a finance line. Further initiatives included introducing FX controls, increasing prices and profit by focusing on high return products, and implementing a new accounting system. Sales and EBITDA increased 20% in first year. Commodity and packing materials business generated substantial revenues with the set-up of global sales agents.

Within the first six months this family business was completely restructured with a focus on horizontal expansion through M&A, organic growth and process optimization. We changed the business model and culture from German top-down to self-steering team to establish profit-making group, and changed the strategy from trading to adding value in the chain by adding services to the sales. Higher margin organic products were introduced into the portfolio, a revised sales structure was put in place, the sales team was more than doubled (in 3 locations) and sales grew from USD20 to USD 90M. Further initiatives include formulation of revenue and rebates budget and forecasting models - improving accuracy from nil to 95%. I spearheaded 3 finance rounds, acquired new finance lines, subordinated loans, and optimized balance sheet/cashflow.

During this period, I won and managed new business and offices in Amsterdam and Utrecht, and managed the new and existing business of the branch – with a strong focus on M&A, FX, asset-based finance and international trade clients. I built a client portfolio from scratch to 50 clients, trained teams in sales, lending and time management skills, and implemented Salesforce. The brand was strengthened by engaging with new clients and organizing networking events.

Coordination and evaluation of the project Tango. This project withheld the migration of 300.000 Small- and Mid- Cap clients to a new paying channel. Responsible for the sales team NL (15FTE) and direct report to senior management. Successfully ended the project with two other project leaders.

Event organizer for the Gumball 3000 Group. Organized Street Wars this was UK’s first freestyle street soccer and street art event. Helped with the Gumball 3000 10th Anniversary Rally in USA, China, and North Korea.
