I ensure that business initiatives comply with employee and consumer expectations and AI and privacy laws across the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and China. I also provide commercially-sound strategic business and legal advice to all teams reporting to our COO, including PetSmart's Loss Prevention & Safety, Supply Chain, and Store Strategy & Operations teams. In addition to compliance efforts, I oversee all MarTech, privacy-related, and ADA litigation. I thrive in high-pressure crisis response situations and advising our PR team during highly publicized media-driven consumer litigation.Prior to moving in-house, I honed my skills in BigLaw where I concentrated on high-stakes and high-profile litigation for global retailers, technology, and media & entertainment companies. I have substantial experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation involving cybersecurity and data privacy issues, copyright and trademark infringement, and contract disputes in both federal and state courts. I also regularly defended large retail clients in consumer class actions. In addition to litigation, I have extensive experience conducting discrete cross-border internal investigations for Fortune 500 companies facing highly publicized crises and regulatory compliance investigations.I graduated from UCLA and USC Gould School of Law. While at UCLA, I spent a semester abroad in Madrid where I studied international law in a full immersion program alongside Spanish students at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.Outside of the office, my interests include international travel with my wife and daughter, trying new restaurants, gardening, snorkeling, and sporting clays.
