In June of 2014 I will Celebrate my 30th anniversary as a foundry professional, with extensive experience in foundry equipment and processes. I began my career in the development of costing models of casting processes, development of JIT manufacturing strategies and tooling prior to completion of my BSIE. Spent my first 3 years in the foundry completing my masters degree while working full time.Having a life long love of all things mechanical I moved into a more equipment oriented position with project, equipment design and maintenance responsibilities.This led to a few years in the new equipment manufacturing business but I discovered I missed the day to day activity of the more commodity based world of casting manufacturing. This coupled with a reserve of experience in casting design from my early years led to desire to be more of an all rounder in the casting business from marketing and sales to quality and process control.Wow, almost 10 years since I found my way back into automation, discovered a love of robots, resumed my love of coding and having the time of my life doing both! Throw in a little mechanical design and project management; I have completely recovered my love of engineering.
