As a Psychologist at QLI, a rehabilitation facility for individuals with brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, chronic pain, and degenerative neurological conditions, I have the privilege of being a part of a fantastic team of dedicated professionals that have constructed and maintained an unequaled continuum of services, and a work culture that is reflected in our being voted the "Best Place to Work in Omaha" all 7 times we have participated in that survey process. My duties include: Conduct initial and ongoing psychological and neuropsychological assessments of inpatient and outpatient clients. Provide psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational services to inpatient and outpatient clients and their family members. Provide ongoing behavioral training and consultation to staff, and maintain ongoing behavioral programming with residents of QLI’s post-acute rehabilitation center, long-term care facility, and assisted living apartment residents. Maintain all documentation for services provided. Provide liaison services between clinical team, family members, and payer sources for identified residents. Participate in training of new staff regarding brain injury, stroke, and adjustment to disability, and provide ongoing staff training in computer and Internet-related classes. Provide professional supervision for post-doctoral psychology residents, pre-doctoral psychology interns, and masters-training psychology externs. Participate in pre-admission screenings and assessments as directed by the QLI admissions committee. Services provided to Geriatric Assessment Clinic (outpatient services), inpatient referrals, and outlying community-based clinics. Credentialed within the Mercy Healthcare system for provision of services with appointment to Affiliate Medical Staff as medical staff assistant. Services provided via contract with Quality Living, Inc.

The Shreveport Mental Health Center is an outpatient treatment facility serving chronically mentally ill adolescents and children. This facility is administered by the State of Louisiana Department of Health and Human Services: Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, and at that time served a population of approximately 2500 clients. Duties: Member of Adult Treatment Services Team. Providing individual and group counseling to caseload of approximately 175 clients, including all judicially-ordered treatment cases for the region. Also responsible for adult psychological testing (intellectual, achievement, projective, and personality assessments). Collected and coordinated data in cooperation with National Institute of Mental Health research project. Member of design and implementation team for Day Hospital Program. Assistant Director of Day Hospital Program. Member of Crisis Response Team and Chairperson for Sportran Referral Committee.

Woodland Hills Hospital is an inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment center (approximately 90-bed facility) serving adults, adolescents, and children. Duties: Direct patient care, including observation of patients, administration of psychiatric care per physicians' orders and patient record documentation. Provided patient counseling and patient crisis intervention.
