As a seasoned technologist, I wear several hats. Security has been my passion for my entire lifetime and I jumped at this opportunity with such incredible coworkers. Currently, I lead an infrastructure team focused on PoS validators, rpc nodes, and other related infrastructure. We are the tip of the spear and love working on unusual and hard to solve problems involving deep understanding of Linux, distributed systems, and blockchain nuance.Additionally, I am a security contributor to a few large blockchain protocols and assist our clients where I’m able to. In my free time, I’m generally writing something in go or contributing to open source projects we work with or use.

After almost nine and a half years at Jump Trading as a Production Engineering senior team member, I was brought to the front office to help solve some infrastructure security related problems. My role involves a blend of software engineering and systems administration to run blockchain infra and evolve it to support the needs of tomorrow. Sysadmins need to automate things. After being a sysadmin for all of my career, I took on a more engineering less operations role. My team and I write automation tools for managing a large global infrastructure. Some people would call me a "DevOps", but I prefer to be called a Systems Engineer or Systems Developer.This challenging position forces me to be fluent in multiple languages (python, javascript, and golang mostly). I like web services and making things go fast. Jr sysadmin duties are quickly becoming obsolete freeing up sysadmins to work on harder problems that humans are uniquely suited to solving. I've also been leading the charge on a move towards Kubernetes for making backend infrastructure more resilient.
