Responsible for coordinating the QA department personnel ensure all aspects of the QAP and implementing procedures are adhered to. Responsible for ensure compliant implementation of the Generator Certification Program. As Director of QA, I am responsible for implementation of the Low Level Radioactive Waste Facility Construction Quality Assurance Plan. This position is responsible for oversight in the performance of field inspections and surveillances to verify performance of construction contractors and suppliers assuring proper implementation of the construction technical specifications as well as project contract requirements. Responsible for identifying quality problems and ensuring proper corrective actions are completed. As Director of QA I am responsible for the contract QC inspection program implementation and the quality control review of construction certification reports.

Responsible for developing the Generator Certification Program as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality supporting the WCS LLRW Facility acceptance criteria, this position will transition into the QA Department, but is currenty assigned to Corporate

The Director of Operations at Waste Control Specialists (WCS) reports directly to the VP / General Manager and oversees the implementation and operations of the WCS Temporary Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Andrews, TX. The Director’s scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to day-to day oversight and management of the following functions: Operations, Maintenance, Technical Support, Customer Service, Project Management, Waste Acceptance, and Facility Construction. This position required interfacing with local and state agencies over licensing and permit issues, new license initiatives, and audit concerns. The Director of Operations assumes the duties of the General Manger in their absence.

Duties include directing the Health Physics workforce in providing job coverage, dose tracking, Alara considerations, water processing, water analysis, issuing water discharge permits and filing with local and state authorities, air monitoring for both dust and radionuclides and submission of quarterly discharge permits to state agencies, directing the Radwaste workforce in the handling, processing, and packaging of radwaste. Perform classification and profiling waste streams. Work with prime contractor and site personnel in yearly waste estimates for licensing and purchase orders with processor and burial sites. Perform manifesting and shipping of waste off site using RadMan and MicroShield.

Worked for a multitude of contractor companies performing primarily health physics, radiation safety, environmental monitoring, and waste management activities.

Worked at a variety on nuclear power facilities both PWR and BWR. All work performed as a Sr. HP contract technician while working for various Health Physics support companies. I preferred the more complex positions such as working under vessel. This included work on Control Rod Drives removal and rebuild with average dose rates between 2 and 10 R/hr, Reactor Core Modifications, Steam Generators Eddy Current which included generator jumps at +100 R/hr, SGRP, reactor nozzle in service inspections which was primarily annulus work with dose rates up to 200 R/hr, Reactor Recirc Pump replacements, and reactor refueling. Held various lead tech positions at multiple power stations.
