- Moved Fauna clusters off of manually managed infrastructure and on to infrastructure managed with Pulumi. This work enabled us to scale out Fauna in a matter of hours rather than days.- Designed and built an internal compute platform based on HashiCorp Nomad used by teams to run periodic batch processes as well as long running services.- Designed and built the intelligent routing layer simplifying the customer experience by allowing them to use a single URL for API calls rather than a URL specific to their database. This routing system also enabled us to shape traffic and needed in response to demand or incidents.- Lead and mentored a group of engineers ensuring they were given guidance, ownership, and agency over the projects they were responsible for.- Maintained a set of Ansible playbooks used to build machine images, deploy software, and maintain database machines.

- Built an authorization system for internal tools and reduce access to administration tools based on employee role.- Implemented email verification.- Created tools to safely destroy huge quantities of phishing and spam.- Built an audit system to track changes to user accounts. This allowed our internal teams to reset compromised accounts to their previous state.- Built an access tracking system that gave internal teams insight into which part of the world and at what time users were accessing their data. This was used to find compromised accounts as well as implement policies for unused accounts.- Lead technical direction of the Trust and Safety engineering team when building internal tools and systems.
