My teaching practice is guided by a focus on critical thinking, inclusiveness, and social justice. Ideally, my students gain meaningful insight into historical perspectives and begin to understand their roles and responsibilities in decolonization and reconciliation. The land plays a large role in my teaching - although I can't always find ways to get my students out on the land I do try to bring their attention to why we need to be aware of our local history so that we can inform our future. Specialties: Technology integration, teaching social studies, math, and teaching students to work from the strength of their exceptionalities, differences, and challenges. Also, by treating students with respect, compassion, dignity, and firmness I hope to reinforce positive and constructive behaviour while encouraging respectful critical questioning and a desire for change.
