Implemented control mechanisms for financial decision making, procurement, accounting and reporting for this internal start-up subsidiary within CenturyLink.Led development of health care reform and Electronic Health Record expertise for CTL sales organizations. Served as keynote speaker for various enterprise hospital customer events on EHR.

Directed C-Suite “Executive Innovation Council” and “Capital Allocation Committees” for this Fortune 500 spin-off from Sprint Nextel (trades NYSE “EQ”). Led corporate idea creation, invention, patent development and innovation initiatives.Oversaw strategic planning, capital investment portfolio management, enterprise risk management (Sarbanes-Oxley), and investment and budget forecasts for all new product launch and fiber optic deployment portfolios. Developed and implemented corporate “Innovation Capability Maturity Model” to build and measure core innovation capability within the organization. Initiate, structure and lead unique corporate initiative to partner with external venture investors to source and develop new line-of-business opportunities.

Implemented innovative licensing and value-added service revenue models to open untapped cash-flow streams. Monetized investment through structured sale/licenses of intellectual property assets. H2 Ventures engaged in private equity and early stage venture transactions, often through advisory, sometimes through direct investment.Equity participation in start-ups and consulting income was typically structured through H2 Ventures.

Started this firm to design, develop and deliver software systems and consulting services to the health care industry. MD-X later sold to an industry consolidator for $70 million. Invented, developed and sold three new product platforms--PPO contract, HMO Denial Management, and Contract Data Warehousing services--with each enjoying rapid success in the marketplace. Drove annual sales from “napkin sketch” to $5 million, including full negotiation of over 500 contracts with client hospital managed care entities. Formed and led a team of 50 professionals (C-level to contractor) in achieving three straight years of revenue and operating margin growth.
